Immigration Ever since colonial time the U.S. has experienced influxes of immigrants from Asia and Europe. To control the flow of immigrants coming into the U.S. many tests and laws were employed to keep out sick or illiterite individuals.

What conditions existed in the United States which allowed the Industrial Revolution to take root and flourish in America ? The U.S.had plenty of people to manufacture goods but there wasnt enough food to feed the workers. Also there was a huge demand for textiles and other good which took a while to produce this demand led many to invent machines to more effectavly produce textiles.
How did laissez-faire capitalism influence the development of business organization in the United States?Laissez-faire capitalism influenced the development of buisness organizations by limiting the government's say in how the buisnesses are ran.
Were the leaders of Big Business "robber barons," or in fact "captains of industry?" The leaders of big buisness were considered "robber barons" because they were able to create a monopoly and then durasticaly raise the price of the product.
How did some philosophies serve to support class division during the Gilded Age? Many philosophers did not aprove of wealthy people interacting with the poor opr less fortunate.
How did the Industrial Revolution cause urbanization and a dramatic increase in the number of immigrants to the United States ? The industrial revolution created a huge number of jobs and the demand for workers rose many immigrants saw this as and rushed to the U.S. and settled in the cities where there was work.
What effect did urbanization and immigration have on the United States ? Urbamization and immigration had a huge effect on the U.S., huge leaps in transportation were made to ship all of the goods and workers from place to place. Also because of all the immigration the U.S. has a huge diversity in ethnicity.
Why have many historians considered the late 1800's in America to be a Gilded Age; a period which was outwardly showy, but inwardly corrupt? The definition of gild is to cover a base object with a thin layer of material, the exactly represents the late 1800's by the base material being the cheap corrupt base metal and the outer coating material being gold to lure in workers with flashy dreams.
How did early reaction to the Gilded Age attempt to correct the abuses of the period? Early reactions to the Gilded Age that tried to correct the abuse of the gilded age included the Know nothing party, The anti trust act and the chinese exclusion act.
